We are only as strong as our membership. Everyone is welcome!

Actorsingers go green: To save paper, printed copies of the Treasurer's report will not be available at the meeting. If you would like a hard copy, E-mail Treasurer, Cheryl Stocks prior to the meeting at CStock1@attglobal.net or call: (603) 434-8270

Ben only appeared in one Actorsingers production — On The Town in 2001 — but he was a faithful and enthusiastic member of our audiences up to and including this summer's Teen production of A Grand Night for Singing. The 58th Annual Convention of the New England Theatre Conference will be held Nov 12-15 in Sturbridge, MA. The organizers are seeking people to run workshops on community theater related topics (networking, fundraising, building audiences, etc) and to perform short plays at the conference. If you are interested in more information on presenting a workshop, send email to moedoucette@aol.com. If you would like to put together a group of Actorsingers to perform something at the conference (please note, it's the same weekend as Actorsingers' big production of Anything Goes!), send email to secretary@actorsingers.org.

May 18 Actorsingers is seeking directors for the Spring 2010 mainstage production, Sweet Charity.

May 14 With sadness we report that Mrs. Margaret (Penny) Tamulonis has passed away.

In 1978 the organization recognized Penny not only as a long-time supporter (over twenty years at that time) but as a hard worker who consistently served "above and beyond the call of duty." Thus was born our Penny Award. One would never have supposed at that time that Penny was not even halfway through her service to Actorsingers in a career of over half a century. Indeed, above and beyond. Penny was a dear friend. We'll miss her tremendously.

Arrangements are in the care of Anctil-Rochette & Son Funeral Home. Visiting hours Friday May 15, 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 at Anctil-Rochette; funeral service Saturday May 16, 11:00am at Church of the Good Shepherd.

May 14 Auditions for Swing! (summer teen show) are this Sunday and Monday. For those planning to audition, the Audition Form has been posted; see the Swing! page.

May 14 A hearty THANK YOU to everyone who made Actorsingers' staging of The Producers a resounding success! The music, dance, and comic performances were wonderful, the show was beautifully staged, and the audience — over two thousand strong! — loved it. Our congratulations and appreciation to the production and technical crews, the performers on stage and in the pit, and to the show directors!

March 30 Posted Swing! Auditions Schedule

March 23 Our Teen Actorsingers summer show will be Swing!

March 16 Actorsingers' big weekend was a success in two states!

In New Hampshire, the Junior Actorsingers' High School Musical played four performances to capacity crowds at the Janice B. Streeter Theatre on Court Street. Congratulations to the cast members on a job well done, and thanks to all of the production crew including so many parents who worked long and hard behind the scenes to make the magic happen.

In Massachusetts, our adults presented Vital Signs in regional festival where they were named "Top Three" finalists in several areas — Best Ensemble, Best Director, Best Costumes, and for Gina Carbello, Best Actress. Congratulations to you all! For those who haven't seen it yet: Vital Signs will play in Nashua on April 4.

What's our next success, you ask? It's our Great Big Actorsingers Mainstage Show THE PRODUCERS which comes to Nashua's Keefe Auditorium for five performances only in early May. NOW is the time to buy tickets as seating is reserved and there are—right now, at least—plenty of excellent seats remaining. See our Tickets page.

March 10 A big weekend for Actorsingers... High School Musical in Nashua (approaching a sellout, but as of noon today there are still seats available for all performances) and Vital Signs in competition in North Andover. "Break a leg!" to both casts. We're happy to announce today that Vital Signs will have a Nashua engagement on April 4 (one night only!) on Court Street. [more info]

Feb 13 You might "only" know Actorsingers as one of the most celebrated community musical theater companies around. But our group has also staged successful non-musical plays for drama competitions, and we're in the middle of one right now! Actorsingers' production of Vital Signs by Jane Martin won Second Place in the NH state competition and thus advances to Regional Competition to be held March 14, 2009 in North Andover, Mass.

The Festival is open to the public (ticket info on NHCTA page) and the women of Actorsingers' Vital Signs would surely love to have some Actorsingers members and friends in the audience to cheer them on to victory. For your convenience, our Junior Actorsingers will perform High School Musical on Friday March 13. You can see them first, and then travel to North Andover on Saturday to see the Actorsingers at 1:00pm, followed immediately by our fine neighbors the Nashua Theatre Guild (who took First in the statewide); you can even take in the entire Festival which continues on Sunday.

Note that the North Andover performance may well be your last penultimate opportunity to see this production anywhere near here, as victory will then advance the show to Tacoma, Washington in June.

Please see our NHCTA page for more info including full schedule.

Feb 3 Now on sale! HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL tickets. All seats are reserved, and our online ticketing provider now allows you to pick your exact seats. Also, tickets to THE PRODUCERS (adult show) continue to be sold online. See our Tickets Page for both shows.

Oct 2 Here's the scoop on tomorrow night's Info Night:

On October 3, 2008 at 6:30PM, Actorsingers will once again present “Information Night” for all the shows being considered for the 2009-2010 mainstage season.

For those of you that have not attended in the past, it’s a fun night of hearing about both familiar and unfamiliar shows. Members of the “Musical Selection Committee” will have tables set up for each show on the ballot, with scripts, scores, synopses, character lists, cast recordings, production photos, and other information for you to browse at your leisure from 6:30 – 7:00pm.

At 7:00pm, the Committee will begin the formal presentations for each show. Each presentation will be about 10 minutes long and will give you a sense of the style and flavor of the show, as well as high-lighting the benefits and pitfalls of producing the show by Actorsingers. There will be time for questions after each presentation. At the end of the presentations, voting ballots will be handed out. This will be the final opportunity for the membership to offer an opinion on what makes up the final 2 shows of the 2009-2010 mainstage season.

The Committee will tally the membership vote and include the "membership vote" as part of the presentation to the Board of Directors at their next scheduled meeting. Light refreshments will be available throughout the evening.

Mar 30 With sadness we report that Betty Badeau has passed away. Betty started helping the Actorsingers back in 1956 and didn't stop for more than half a century. She worked in makeup, wardrobe, concessions, ushering, and tickets, tickets, tickets... her smiling face (along with that of her dear friend and tickets-partner, the late John Liljeberg) was always a welcome sight at our productions.

Devotion like Betty's is very hard to come by. She was loved and will be missed by us all.

Arrangements are in the care of Anctil-Rochette & Son Funeral Home. Visiting hours Wednesday evening 6:00 to 9:00 at Anctil-Rochette; funeral mass Thursday, 9:00am at Church of the Good Shepherd.

Our heartfelt condolences to his wife Raelene and family and friends.
