Adapted for the stage from the movie of the same name, Young Frankenstein tells the story of Dr. Frederick Frankenstein (pronounced “Fronk-en-steen”), the grandson of the infamous Dr. Victor Frankenstein, who inherits his family’s estate in Transylvania. With the help of a hunchbacked side-kick, Igor (pronounced “Eye-gore”), and a leggy lab assistant, Inga, Frederick finds himself in the mad scientist shoes of his ancestors. “It’s alive!” he exclaims as he brings to life a creature to rival his grandfather’s. Eventually, of course, the monster escapes and hilarity continuously abounds.
The comedy genius Mel Brooks (creator of the record-breaking Broadway sensation “The Producers”) adapts his electrifyingly funny film of the same name into a brilliant stage creation, and The Actorsingers are pleased to bring you the southern New Hampshire premiere of this hilarious show!
