Audition details

- Character descriptions can be found on the Concord Theatricals website here.
- Music and Acting:
- Please prepare 16 bars (30 to 45 seconds) of a song that you feel comfortable with - not from the show.
- You are expected to act while you perform your song.
- Please bring a karaoke version of the song to play via Bluetooth, or the sheet music for the accompanist to play.
- You may be asked to sing a small clip from the show at auditions.
- Dance:
- Video of required dance [coming soon] - everyone needs to learn this dance
- Please come dressed in comfortable clothes and shoes for the dance audition.
- Note from the Choreographer: My vision for Anastasia is to incorporate jazz, ballet, traditional Russian dance, and ballroom (Waltz, Tango, and Lindy Hop) styles into the show. You will notice the audition dance combines jazz techniques with the control found in ballet, because from auditions I will be selecting three ballet soloists for the Swan Lake number. From my dancers, I will be looking for people who can really play into the musicality of the numbers and use dance as an extension of their acting. I take a teaching approach to my rehearsals, so don’t worry if you’ve never tried one of the above-mentioned styles, we will spend at least one rehearsal on ballroom dancing basics. If you do have any special skills (leaps, splits, lifts, etc.) make sure to list them on the audition form and be ready to demonstrate them during your audition. Above all – have fun with it and I can’t wait to meet you all!
- Callbacks will only occur if needed. An email from the team Monday night or Tuesday morning will be sent out if we want to call you back.
- No callback does not mean you are not being considered for roles. Callbacks are only needed when the team needs additional information to make casting decisions.
- The audition form can be (preferably) filled out in advance or filled out day of the audition.
- If you are unable to attend auditions in person, please submit a video audition to [email protected]. Please include an introduction of yourself and your song followed by the audition dance.
- Deadline for online submissions is 6:00pm Monday, March 31.
