"Sweet
Charity" tells the heart-warming story of Charity Hope
Valentine, a vibrant but unlucky-in-love dance hall "hostess" at the
seedy Fandango Room in New York City in the late 1960s. With
a script by Neil
Simon and brought to the Broadway stage by the incomparable
direction and choreography of Bob Fosse,
the show went on to additional success with a movie version of the show
starring Shirley MacLaine. With familiar show-stopping
numbers such as "Big Spender" and "If My Friends Could See Me Now",
you're sure to enjoy this Broadway classic from the award-winning
Actorsingers!

Paul
Metzger (Director) is back again with Actorsingers, having
directed 2007's Thoroughly Modern Millie
(New
Hampshire Theatre Awards for Best Show, Best Musical Direction, Best
Choreography, and Best Costumes) as well as our award-winning
productions of CATS
(2006) and Jesus
Christ
Superstar (2005). No stranger to
performing on stage as well as
behind the scenes, Paul has appeared in over 20 productions, musical
and non-musical alike, and has been Fight Director (stage combat) for
several of them. Most recently, Paul appeared in Actorsingers'
production of The
Producers and was the Voice of the Plant in MADCOs
production of Little
Shop of Horrors.
Favorite roles over the years include Will Parker in Oklahoma!,
Petruchio in Taming of the Shrew, and Sky Masterson
in Guys & Dolls. |

Players, Kids Coop Theatre, MADCo, and Majestic Theatre.
Favorite
musical direction credits include Into
the Woods, Seussical,
Godspell,
Once Upon a
Mattress, Oklahoma,
and Anything Goes.
In 2008, he was nominated for a NH Theatre Award for his
musical direction of Little
Shop of Horrors
with MADCo. When not in the pit, Blake teaches chorus and
theatre
at West Running Brook Middle School in Derry where he also directs the
drama club and select choir. Blake holds a Masters of Music
Education from the University of Michigan and a Bachelors from the
University of Massachusetts. |

Donna
O'Bryant Metzger (Choreographer) is a two-time winner of a
New Hampshire Theatre Award for Best Choreography -- Thoroughly Modern Millie
(2007) and CATS
(2006), both with Actorsingers.
She is very
excited to have the opportunity to once again work with
Actorsingers and to channel the style and spirit of Bob Fosse
in a
fabulous show! Donna has performed in and choreographed
numerous
community theater productions in both NH and MA. Most
recently Donna performed in the Actorsingers' productions of The Producers and
Anything Goes.
She
is an Actorsingers Life Member and on of the Board of Directors. She is
thrilled to be working on another production with her husband, Paul and
can't wait to work with Blake again! |
