Presenting Community Theatre since 1955

Actorsingers Official Statement: COVID-19

March 18, 2020

To our Actorsingers members, friends and patrons,

Like mine, I am sure that your inbox and Facebook feeds are filled with information from your favorite restaurants, stores, salons, theatres and other places and how they are responding to this national emergency.  At Actorsingers, we too are trying to help #flattenthecurve right now and we look forward to resuming our theatrical productions when it is safe for everyone to do so.  We are approaching our 65th year of community theatre in Nashua and hopefully will be able to kick that off in November!

In the mean time, to keep everyone safe, the Board of Directors has voted to close Actorsingers Hall for the foreseeable future and will continue to re-evaluate.  The CDC has recommended no large gatherings for 8 weeks.  Our Junior show, James and the Giant Peach and our Spring Mainstage show, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat have both stopped rehearsing and we are working to move both of these to dates in the future.  As you might imagine, theatre companies all over the world are cancelling or postponing shows and the licensing companies are swamped with requests.  We are working behind the scenes to procure future dates and will update you when we have confirmations.  We hope that we can make transitions smooth, but this is new territory for all of us.  Info nights and auditions for our Teen and Fringe shows are on hold for the moment, but we are looking to reschedule these as well in addition to our social offerings.  As you know, things are changing daily, but on the positive side, I am seeing some pretty creative solutions to many things.  The BoD has gone to teleconferencing and it has been a way that we can easily meet and see each other safely.  It’s even kind of fun in a Brady Bunch/Hollywood Squares sort of way.  I have seen a playreading group use this same technology and it looks like they are enjoying a way to stay connected  without risk.  It is important that we stay in touch with and support each other as much as we can.

If you have any general questions or concerns, please send them to Jo-Ann Zall at If you need to access the building, please reach out to our Vice President, Angèlica Rosenthal at I am also available at  We are in regular contact with each other and will work to get you answers as quickly as possible.  We will also post updates on our website,

We appreciate your support and patronage.  We continue to make plans and look forward to being back onstage as soon as we can be!
